Declaration of Faith

“The Principles of the Doctrine of Christ”

1.     We declare the Bible is the only holy, infallible, inerrant, and every word inspired Word of God, the only correct and non-contradictable text (in the Greek manuscripts being the Textus Receptus that is translated as “The Received Text”).  This is why Christ Fellowship International uses only the King James Authorized Version of 1611 (II Timothy 3:16; Matthew 4:4; Luke 4:4).

2.     We declare one true and living God; that this God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is the only wise and eternal God, who is from everlasting to everlasting – no beginning and no end- and that He is LIVING and manifest through three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost (Spirit).  “For there are three that bear record in Heaven, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one (I John 5:7).

3.     We declare the “Word of God” became flesh as is recorded in John 1:1, through the Divine, miraculous conception of the Virgin Mary, a pure and holy woman who was overshadowed by the Holy Ghost, as was prophesied by the prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 7:14), and as is recorded in Matthew 1:18-25 and Luke 1:26-35.

4.     We declare this Jesus of Nazareth, was born both God and man, in Bethlehem of Judea, as was prophesied by the prophet Micah (Micah 5:2), and is recorded in Luke 2:1-17, lived a pure, holy, and sinless life, being the only man ever born of a woman to fulfill perfectly the law of Moses.  This was required of Him in order to become a sufficient atonement for sinful man.

5.     We declare Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the only Saviour and redeemer of man; that he was taken and innocently crucified, shedding His “precious blood” (I Peter 1:19) upon Golgotha’s cross, and “tasted death for every man (Hebrews 2:9; 9:22).

6.     We declare His body was buried and lay in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathaea for three days and three nights while His spirit was in the heart of the earth (Matthew 12:40).

7.     We declare that on the “third day” Jesus Christ arose from the dead in fulfillment of the prophets (Psalms 16:9-10; Acts 2:22-27) and His very own prophecy (Matthew 16:21; 17:22-23; 20:17-19), in a glorified body of “flesh and bone (Luke 24:36-43; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

8.     We declare that after His resurrection from the dead, Jesus of Nazareth “shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs (Acts 1:3).”  “Until the day he was taken up” (Acts 1:2) to sit at the right hand of God the Father (Psalm 110:1; Acts 1:29-33; Hebrews 1:3, 10, 12-13).

9.     We declare that “this same Jesus: which ascended into heaven before the eyes of His disciples “shall so come in like manner” as He was seen to be taken up into the clouds of heaven (Acts 1:11; Matthew 24:27, 29).

10.  We declare all whome the Holy Spirit indwells will be raised up with bodies like Jesus Christ’s at His second coming (I Corinthians 15:20-23; I John3:2; Romans 8:11).

11.  We declare that this present (genea) generation is the one Jesus spoke of in Matthew 24:32-34, Mark 13:28-30, Luke 21:29-32, that “Shall not pass till ALL these things be fulfilled (Matthew 24:3-28; Mark 13:4-23; Luke 21:7-27).”  These things must precede His coming (Luke 21:28).  No man can ever know that (exact) day and hour (Matthew 24:36).  The elect/saints/church will go through the tribulation, but not the wrath of God (Matthew 24:29-31; Revelation chapter 8, 9, 15 & 16; 1 Thessalonians 5:9).

The Seven Principles

12.   We preach and teach the seven “Principles of the Doctrine of Jesus Christ” that they are set forth in their proper rand and order in Hebrews 6:1-2.  Namely:

1. Repentance From Dead Works

2. Faith Towards God

3. Baptism With The Holy Spirit
(Principle 3 & 4 are the two “baptisms” under the New Covenant.  Holy Spirit baptism is a promise to all who believe in Jesus Christ (Luke 7:37-39; Galatians 3:13-14).  The gifts of the Spirit result from this baptism; they are to be desired, not forbidden (I Corinthians 12:4-11, 14:1, 39).   Perfect love with boldness to witness is the fruit of being Spirit-filled (Acts 1:8, 4:31; 1 John 4:17-18).

4. Baptism With Water
Water baptism is a command to all who repent and believe in Jesus of Nazareth as the Christ (Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47-48).  It is a type of figure of Spirit baptism (Matthew 3:11; Mark 1:8; Luke 3:16; John 1:33; Hebrews 9:6-10; I Peter 3:20-21).

5. The Laying on of hands
Involves the government of the Church.  Divine healing and the nine miraculous gifts of the Spirit (I Timothy 3:1-13, 4:14, 5:22).

6. Resurrection of the Dead
Pertains to the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the just or righteous, and also to the unjust or wicked (John 5:28-29; Revelation 20:4-5).

7. Eternal Judgment
is coming to every soul to determine its degree of reward, whether it be good or evil (Ecclesiastes 12:14; Romans 14:10 I Corinthians 3:8-15; II Corinthians 5:10; II Peter 3:7).  For the righteous, eternal joy and bliss; for the unrighteous, unending torment in the Gehenna Hell (Mark 9:43-48) which is “perdition” (Revelation 17:8), or the lake of fire and brimstone (Revelation 20:15).

Proving the Principles

13.  We declare and prove, to perfection, every one of “the principles of the doctrine of Christ” by proving what is a “faithful saying, worthy of all acceptation (I Timothy 1:15 & fd4:9).”  “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good (I Thessalonians 5:21).”  This means that whatever we preach and teach to be “the TRUTH” must be always a “saying” or “teaching” that is “without contradiction” throughout all of the Bible (Hebrew 7:7).  This is one of the primary objectives of Christ Fellowship International so as to prepare “wise virgins” for the final harvest (Matthew 25:1-13).  This is why we teach God’s one method of How to =Study to Rightly Divide the Word of Truth (II Timothy 2:15).  God does not condone ignorance, “But if a man be ignorant, let him be ignorant (I Corinthians 14:38).”

14.  We believe in keeping the ordinances under the New Covenant (I Corinthians 11:2) as commanded by our Lord Jesus and the Apostle Paul.  These ordinances include water baptism, according to Matthew 28:19, the Lord’s Supper (I Corinthians 11:23-29), and washing of feet (John 13:1-15).

15.  We believe in keeping the assembly of the saints on the first day of the week – the Lord’s Day (Hebrews 10:26).  There is no command in the New Testament to observe the mosaic Sabbath; it is silent.  Yet, Gentile churches do have an example and command for assembling on Sundays (Acts 20:7; I Cor
