The Covering Over All People, The Vail Over All Nations
by Carlos E. Bledsoe
Luke 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
Il Corinthians 3:14-16 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
This word "vail" in Strong's Concordance of the Bible Dictionary is #2571 in the Greek and it means "covering". Now let us go to Isaiah 25:7 - And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. The word "covering" is #3875 and it means "vail", and the word "vail" is #4541 and it means "covering" the same as in II Corinthians 3:14-16. Verse 8 - He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
When is the Lord going to do these things in the two above verses? Verse 9 tells us And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. This is in that day (the day of the Lord) and they said we have waited for Him, and He will save us. Salvation is yet future. The sign of the Son of man has appeared in heaven and they see Him coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory (Matthew 24:29-31). They know that their redemption is nigh (Luke 21:28). Both Jews and Gentiles.
I believe this is the same vail as the one in I Corinthians 3:14-16 because Isaiah said "from off all faces and the rebuke from off all the earth."
This is another proof that death will not be swallowed up, tears wiped away, and that salvation will not come before the day of the Lord (Joel 2:30-31; Acts 2:19-20; Matthew 24:29-31).
Isaiah 60:1 - Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. 2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. 3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. (Isaiah 62:1; Joel 2:32).
I have a question: Will there be any light or brightness upon Jerusalem for a so-called Gentile bride to come in a so-called pre-trib rapture? Remember Luke 21:24 - And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
